Introducing Paoli Chiropractor Dr. Lori Kalie
Simply put, I was a skeptic… I was attending a pharmacy school with the intention of doing research for drug companies after I graduated. Chiropractic was my last resort for getting rid of my pain.
As I learned more about chiropractic my last year in college, the more it made sense for me to continue my education at a chiropractic school and not in pharmaceuticals. I realized that drugs were not the answer, and definitely not the future of health care. Chiropractic changed my life, and I decided that I wanted to educate and help other people the way my chiropractor helped me.
I graduated from Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and Science in 1997 with a B.S. in Microbiology and a minor in Biochemistry. I then decided to attend Life University College of Chiropractic in Marietta, GA, which is the biggest chiropractic school in the country. I decided to go there because of it's great reputation for quality education and diversity in spinal adjusting classes that they offer. I graduated Cum Laude from Life University in 2001.
My goal in practice is to get the patient back to health as quickly as possible. My philosophy is quite simple - I work with my patients as a team effort. We each have our separate jobs to do. I will only accept a patient case as long as the patient agrees to work as hard as I do.
In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family, which include my mom, dad, and two younger sisters.
I also enjoy playing golf, running, and working out.
I get adjusted by my partner, Dr. Glazer, at least twice a week. Adjusting patients is physically demanding on my part, so my spine tends to mis-align faster than someone with a less physically demanding job. Adjustments keep me feeling great and physically at my best in order to do my job.
I workout at least five times per week. I run 3-4 miles a day, lift weights, and use a Pilate's machine for strengthening. I have also recently started bike riding to vary my routine.
In chiropractic school I chose to become a vegetarian for health benefits and still continue that today. I don't recommend that diet for everyone, but it makes me feel better to mainly eat fruits, vegetables, and alternative sources of protein.
I do not recommend vaccinations, antibiotics, or over-the-counter pain killers to my patients. I have studied the effects of these on the body and have seen first hand the adverse effects that people have due to these chemicals and toxins.
